Avarice

Avarice acknowledges the darker, destructive pull of power, and greed; luring the viewer with a formal aesthetic that coats corruption in the sickly sweet trappings of beauty. It tells the human story of a consuming desire to possess, use up and obliterate without regard to consequence, and without accountability to future generations. Avarice anthropomorphizes catastrophic environmental situations through size and scale. Like ants, the monolithic machines chew the earth, rearrange and invert mountains, poison land and water, and spew toxic fumes into the sky.
